Telehealth is not the format I imagined myself in
Telehealth is not the format I imagined myself in. I probably chose this profession partly to avoid sitting at a desk in front of a computer. But it lets people find support from someone not necessarily local nor similar to them.
I am still refining. Different tools. Wondering if it matters what is on the wall behind me. More opportunity for my attention to drift from the screen.
I chose it anyway, because access matters more than format. If a session held over a laptop, with my dog trying to climb onto the desk, is the difference in someone getting care, that is an easy decision.
The discomfort is mine to work out, something I’ve never shied away from.
