About
As a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology, school social work experience, and professional experience working with military members and veterans, I bring a broad understanding of trauma, resilience, and the challenges individuals and families encounter throughout different stages of life. My approach is compassionate, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, creating a space where clients feel heard, respected, and understood.
Who I work with
I work with children, adolescents, teens, families, and adults navigating trauma, post-traumatic stress (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), anxiety, emotional and behavioral challenges, family transitions, and other life stressors. My experience includes resilience training, helping individuals build practical skills to navigate adversity, manage stress, strengthen relationships, and build confidence.
Before the practice
My background in school social work has given me a close understanding of the social, emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs of children and adolescents, while my work with military members and veterans, and with adults navigating brain injury and cognitive recovery, has deepened my understanding of transition, trauma, reintegration, and resilience.
A neuroscience lens
My interest in neuroscience has also shaped the way I understand trauma, stress, and emotional well-being. Through my research experience, I have developed a deeper appreciation for the connection between the brain, nervous system, emotions, and behavior — knowledge I bring into my work with clients in a practical and compassionate way.
How I work
In private practice, I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, individualized, and grounded in each client’s own strengths and experiences. I work alongside clients and families to identify meaningful goals, develop effective coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and build resilience — with the goal of helping clients understand their experiences, navigate challenges, and move forward with greater balance, connection, confidence, and hope.
Ways of working
Outside the office
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, practicing yoga, traveling, and finding opportunities to laugh and enjoy the everyday moments of life. I believe connection, humor, and authenticity are important parts of building meaningful relationships — not only in everyday life, but also in the therapeutic relationship.
